UAE Showcases Marine Sports Achievements at UIM General Assembly in Shanghai

Shanghai, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates highlighted its outstanding achievements in marine sports during its participation in the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) General Assembly held in Shanghai, China.

A delegation from the UAE Marine Sports Federation, led by Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Vice President of the Federation, and including board members Ahmed Ibrahim and Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, represented the country at the assembly. The delegation reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to building and strengthening international strategic partnerships aimed at advancing the global development of marine sports.

The participation aligns with the UAE’s strategy to enhance its presence in specialised international forums, promote the growth of marine sports as an essential component of the nation’s cultural heritage and identity, and benefit from global expertise and best practices while keeping pace with modern developments in the field.

The assembly discussed various topics, including the development of regulations governing marine sports races, new opportunities for technical cooperation and knowledge exchange among member states, and the organisation of high-level international marine events that contribute to the sport’s worldwide advancement.

Al Midfa emphasised that the UAE’s participation provided an important platform to engage with global experts and specialists, learn about the latest innovations in the marine sports sector, and strengthen the UAE’s leadership in promoting the sport at both regional and international levels.
