Turkmenistan, Peace and Sport Organization Discuss Enhanced Humanitarian Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A meeting was held on December 10, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov and Joël Bouzou, President and Founder of the organization Peace and Sport and Advisor to Prince Albert II of Monaco. Bouzou arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events marking International Neutrality Day, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality, and the International Year of Peace and Trust 2025.
During the talks, both sides reviewed a wide-ranging agenda for humanitarian cooperation, grounded in the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Principality of Monaco. The parties noted the positive dynamics of engagement between Turkmenistan and the Peace and Sport organization.
Special focus was placed on advancing cooperation aimed at promoting peace, trust, and the strengthening of international ties through sport. The discussions underscored the importance of sport as a tool for fostering dialogue, inclusivity, and global understanding.
The two sides also considered the proposal by Peace and Sport to hold a continental “Peace and Sport” forum in Turkmenistan in 2026, a move that aligns with Turkmenistan’s ongoing efforts to contribute to global peace initiatives.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both parties to further expanding cooperation in areas that support peace, stability, and humanitarian development.
