UAE President, Indonesian Leader Discuss Expanding Economic and Strategic Cooperation in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met today with His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, who is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Discussions focused on key development sectors, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, food security, and culture.

His Highness welcomed President Prabowo at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where the leaders exchanged Ramadan greetings and conveyed their wishes that the holy month would bring blessings and prosperity to both nations, while contributing to peace and stability worldwide.

Both sides highlighted the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, established in 1976, as a landmark occasion and an opportunity to further deepen collaboration in pursuit of shared growth and prosperity.

President Sheikh Mohamed underscored the steady progress of UAE–Indonesia relations, noting that the partnership is built on mutual trust, respect, and common interests. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its development and economic ties with Indonesia in ways that benefit both countries and their peoples.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They emphasized the importance of reinforcing the foundations of peace and stability at regional and global levels, and of promoting political solutions to ongoing crises.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; and a number of senior officials.
