Vietnam Welcomes US–Iran Ceasefire, Urges Restraint and Dialogue for Lasting Peace

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam has welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached on April 7 between the United States and Iran, describing it as a significant step toward easing tensions and restoring peace, stability, and security in the Middle East.

Speaking on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Phạm Thu Hằng emphasized that the agreement represents an important opportunity to de-escalate the situation and move toward sustainable regional stability.

Vietnam called on all parties involved to exercise restraint, act responsibly, and avoid actions that could further complicate the situation. The spokesperson stressed the importance of respecting the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of all countries, while ensuring the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure.

Highlighting maritime concerns, Vietnam also underscored the need to maintain the freedom and security of navigation in the region.

Reaffirming its support for peaceful conflict resolution, Vietnam advocated for continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement grounded in international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. The spokesperson noted that such efforts are essential to achieving durable peace and fostering regional and global cooperation, stability, and development.
