Uzbekistan, Russia Leaders Discuss Expanding Strategic Partnership During Moscow Meeting

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on May 8, focusing on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
At the outset of the meeting, the two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory, marking the historic commemoration of the end of World War II.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed key issues related to further expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing agreements reached during previous high-level engagements.
The leaders expressed satisfaction over the continued growth in bilateral trade and the successful implementation of joint projects in sectors including industry, energy, metallurgy and other areas of economic cooperation.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to sustain the positive momentum in trade turnover, accelerate cooperation projects in priority sectors and maintain active interaction at the regional level.
Special emphasis was placed on enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges between Uzbekistan and Russia as part of efforts to deepen people-to-people ties.
President Mirziyoyev and President Putin additionally exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest during the meeting.
