Saudi Arabia Highlights Vision 2030 Economic Reforms at OECD Ministerial Meeting in Paris

Paris, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim participated in the Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) held in Paris on Wednesday, under the theme “Getting industrial policies right for open markets, growth and prosperity.”

Addressing a session titled “Balancing the goals and impacts of industrial policy,” Al-Ibrahim outlined Saudi Arabia’s experience in advancing economic diversification and promoting sustainable growth under Saudi Vision 2030.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s industrial policy approach, which focuses on strengthening long-term competitiveness, enhancing economic resilience, and fostering an enabling environment for innovation, investment, and private-sector expansion.

The minister stressed the importance of designing flexible and productivity-driven industrial policies aimed at building national capabilities and enhancing competitiveness across key sectors of the economy.

He further underscored the significance of international cooperation in supporting sustainable development, sharing expertise and knowledge, and facilitating investment flows to enable companies to innovate and compete globally.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Ibrahim held discussions with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, where both sides reviewed global and regional economic developments and explored avenues to strengthen cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the OECD.

The Saudi minister also met South Korean Minister for Trade Han-Koo Yeo to discuss enhancing bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations, as well as addressing key developments in the global economy.

The meetings reflected Saudi Arabia’s continued engagement with international partners to support economic transformation and deepen global economic cooperation.
