Turkmenistan, European Union Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan and the European Union reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across a range of sectors during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on June 11.

The talks were held between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister, Rashid Meredov, and the European Union’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Beata Peksa.

According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the two sides exchanged views on key issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union and assessed the current level of engagement in various fields.

The discussions focused on identifying further steps to enhance bilateral partnership in the political and diplomatic sphere, expand trade and economic cooperation, and strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties.

Both sides reaffirmed their interest in maintaining constructive dialogue and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, reflecting the growing partnership between Turkmenistan and the European Union.

The meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to advancing collaboration across priority areas and exploring new opportunities for engagement in support of shared interests.
