UAE, Morocco Sign MoU to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation in Human Rights

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights, marking another milestone in the growing partnership between the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of State, on behalf of the UAE’s Permanent Committee for Human Rights, and Mohamed El Habib Belkouch, Interministerial Delegate for Human Rights of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Kaabi said the MoU reflects the shared commitment of both nations to advancing cooperation in human rights and provides an important framework for the exchange of expertise, best practices, and institutional knowledge.

“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding reflects the shared commitment of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco to further strengthen cooperation in the field of human rights. It provides an important framework for exchanging expertise and best practices, enhancing institutional capacities, and enriching dialogue on human rights issues,” she stated.

The agreement is expected to promote collaboration in key areas, including capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, the exchange of experiences, and the promotion of a culture of human rights in both countries.

Officials noted that the signing reflects the continued development of UAE-Morocco relations across a wide range of sectors, including political, economic, media, and cultural fields. The partnership is guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Mohammed VI.

Both countries have made notable progress in promoting and protecting human rights at the national, regional, and international levels. Their active participation in international forums and multilateral initiatives demonstrates a shared commitment to constructive engagement and cooperation on human rights issues.

The signing ceremony was attended by Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri, underscoring the importance both nations attach to enhancing collaboration and advancing mutual interests.

The MoU is expected to further deepen bilateral ties while fostering greater cooperation in human rights, institutional development, and international dialogue between the UAE and Morocco.
