Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani boxer Saidjamshid Jafarov has won a gold medal at the World Boxing Cup held in Guiyang, China, delivering a dominant performance in the 75 kg weight category.

In the final, Jafarov faced Bulgaria’s Rami Kiwan and controlled the bout across all three rounds, securing a convincing unanimous decision victory with a 5–0 score (30–27, 30–27, 30–27, 30–27, 29–28) to claim the World Cup title.

With this achievement, Azerbaijan concluded the tournament with a total of one gold and two bronze medals. The competition featured around 300 athletes from 40 countries and served as the second ranking event of the year in the international boxing calendar.

Earlier in the tournament, Azerbaijani boxers Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) and Alfonso Dominguez (90 kg) secured bronze medals after finishing third in their respective weight categories, contributing to the country’s overall medal tally.

The results reflect a strong showing by Azerbaijan’s national boxing team on the international stage, underscoring its continued progress and competitiveness in world boxing events.
