Iran, Serbia Presidents Stress Expanding Bilateral Cooperation, Welcome Efforts to End Regional Conflict

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: The presidents of Iran and Serbia have welcomed recent understandings aimed at ending the conflict in the region and underscored the importance of strengthening peace, stability, and bilateral cooperation between their countries.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, according to Iranian media reports.

During the call, President Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for what he described as the clear and transparent positions adopted by the Serbian government and people toward the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also thanked Serbia for its humanitarian assistance provided during the recent conflict.

Referring to recent developments and efforts to end hostilities, President Pezeshkian said Iran had consistently expressed its readiness for dialogue and negotiations. He noted that the negotiation process was progressing positively and reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to continuing diplomatic engagement.

The Iranian president emphasized the need to consolidate peace and stability in the region, describing dialogue and diplomacy as essential tools for resolving disputes and reducing tensions.

Pezeshkian also discussed regional security developments, stating that Iran viewed Israeli policies as a major source of instability in the region. He said the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran had failed to achieve their objectives and resulted in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.

The two leaders also stressed the importance of further expanding bilateral relations and cooperation across various fields, while expressing support for initiatives aimed at promoting regional peace, stability, and mutual understanding.
