Emirates to Launch Second Daily A350 Service Between Dubai and Colombo from August 8

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Emirates has announced the introduction of a second daily Airbus A350 service between Dubai and Colombo from August 8, enhancing travel options and offering more passengers the opportunity to experience the airline’s latest-generation aircraft and its award-winning Premium Economy cabin.

The new deployment will see the Airbus A350 replace the Boeing 777 currently operating flight EK648/649, significantly enhancing passenger comfort and increasing Premium Economy capacity on the route.

With the additional A350 service, Emirates will double the number of Premium Economy seats available between Dubai and Colombo, reaffirming its commitment to providing an elevated travel experience for customers traveling to and from Sri Lanka.

Emirates currently operates four daily flights to Colombo using a combination of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft. The second daily A350 flight, EK648, will depart Dubai International Airport at 16:10 and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport at 22:10 local time. The return flight, EK649, will depart Colombo at 02:55 and arrive in Dubai at 05:50.

The Airbus A350 features spacious and modern cabins designed to enhance passenger comfort across all travel classes. The aircraft is equipped with Emirates’ latest innovations, including ultra-responsive 4K and 4K HDR inflight entertainment touchscreens, faster onboard Wi-Fi connectivity, wider aisles, and a brighter, more spacious cabin environment.

A key highlight of the aircraft is Emirates’ award-winning Premium Economy cabin, which has become one of the airline’s most popular offerings. Configured in a spacious 2-3-2 layout, the cabin features cream leather seats with elegant woodgrain finishes, each measuring 19.5 inches wide with a 40-inch seat pitch, eight-inch recline, six-way adjustable headrests, and 13.3-inch personal entertainment screens.

Passengers traveling in Premium Economy also benefit from a range of exclusive services, including a welcome drink, seasonal dining menus, premium amenity kits, sustainably produced blankets, generously sized pillows, priority boarding, dedicated check-in facilities at Dubai International Airport, and a baggage allowance of up to 35 kilograms.

The introduction of the second daily A350 service underscores Emirates’ continued investment in expanding its premium travel offerings while strengthening connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka.
