President Tebboune Presides Over 2026 Graduation Ceremony at Cherchell Military Academy

Algiers, The Gulf Observer: Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who also serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, presided over the annual graduation ceremony for the 2026 classes at the Cherchell Military Academy “Late President Houari Boumediene” in Tipaza Province. The graduating class was named in honor of former President and independence figure Liamine Zeroual.

Upon his arrival at the academy, President Tebboune was received by General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (PNA). The president reviewed military formations representing various branches of the armed forces before attending the official graduation ceremony.

The ceremony brought together senior military officials and state dignitaries to celebrate the graduation of a new generation of officers from one of Algeria’s premier military training institutions. The annual event underscores the country’s continued commitment to strengthening the professionalism, preparedness, and leadership of the People’s National Army.

As part of the official program, President Tebboune paid tribute to the academy’s namesake, the late President Houari Boumediene, by laying a wreath at the memorial monument and observing a moment of remembrance, reflecting Algeria’s tradition of honoring national leaders and the country’s liberation legacy.

The Cherchell Military Academy remains a cornerstone of Algeria’s military education system, producing officers who serve across the various branches of the People’s National Army and contribute to the country’s national defense and security.
