President Prabowo Optimistic Indonesia Will Become a Global Food Barn

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has expressed confidence that Indonesia is on course to become one of the world’s leading food-producing nations, citing rising agricultural productivity and the rapid adoption of modern farming technologies as key drivers of the country’s food security ambitions.
Speaking after observing an advanced agricultural technology demonstration during the 17th National Farmers and Fishers Week in Gorontalo, President Prabowo said Indonesia’s improving food production would eventually enable the country to supply food to other nations.
“I think we will become the world’s food barn before long. We will be able to help many countries,” the president said, underscoring his administration’s commitment to strengthening national food resilience through innovation and technological advancement.
Prabowo emphasized that food security remains a cornerstone of Indonesia’s economic resilience and long-term national development strategy. He noted that increased use of modern agricultural equipment, improved farming techniques, and enhanced productivity are positioning Indonesia to achieve sustainable food self-sufficiency while expanding its contribution to global food supplies.
The president reaffirmed that the government will continue supporting farmers through policies aimed at boosting production, improving agricultural infrastructure, and accelerating the modernization of the farming sector. He stressed that a stronger agricultural industry would not only secure domestic food needs but also create opportunities for Indonesia to play a greater role in addressing global food challenges.
Indonesia has made food security one of the central priorities of President Prabowo’s administration, with ongoing investments in agricultural development, technological innovation, and productivity enhancement designed to strengthen the country’s position as a major agricultural producer in the years ahead.
