Oman, Iran Hold Talks on Maritime Security and Freedom of Navigation in Strait of Hormuz

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman and Iran held high-level talks in Muscat on Saturday to discuss measures aimed at ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in light of recent regional developments.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on maintaining maritime security and the uninterrupted flow of international shipping through the strategic waterway.

The two countries agreed to continue consultations at both the technical and political levels to reach the necessary agreements in accordance with international law.

The Omani delegation was led by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, while the Iranian delegation was headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
