President Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Maldives on Independence Day

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended heartfelt congratulations to President of the Republic of Maldives on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

In a congratulatory message, President Aliyev conveyed his sincere greetings on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan, wishing the President of the Maldives and its people continued peace, prosperity, and progress.

The Azerbaijani President welcomed the positive momentum in relations between the two countries, highlighting the steady expansion of cooperation across various sectors. He noted that the launch of direct flights between Azerbaijan and the Maldives, together with the recently introduced mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports, has provided a significant boost to people-to-people exchanges, particularly in the field of tourism.

President Aliyev also underscored that Azerbaijan and the Maldives are marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, expressing confidence that both countries will continue working together to deepen their longstanding friendship and enrich bilateral cooperation with new initiatives.

Concluding his message, President Aliyev wished the Maldivian President robust health, happiness, and continued success in his endeavors, while extending his best wishes for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity to the people of the Maldives.
