Turkmenistan, Iran Discuss Strengthening Bilateral and Consular Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov held a meeting with the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mary, Seyed Mostafa Hosseinipour, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Tuesday.

At the outset of the meeting, Hosseinipour presented his consular patent, following which the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan presented him with the consular exequatur.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed current issues of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation and exchanged views on prospects for further developing friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.

The sides also emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing consular ties in the interests of both countries and their peoples.

Concluding the meeting, the Iranian Consul General assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen bilateral relations and promote consular cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran.
