King Abdullah II Reviews Progress of Economic Modernisation Vision
Amman, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday reviewed progress in implementing the second executive programme of Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV) during the first half of the year.
The review took place during a meeting with Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and a number of relevant officials, according to a statement issued by the Royal Court.
During the meeting, His Majesty was briefed on key milestones achieved in EMV projects across several priority sectors, including healthcare, transport and logistics, education, and industry.
King Abdullah stressed the need to direct greater and more targeted investment towards priority projects, particularly those focused on boosting exports and expanding public-private partnerships. He emphasised that mobilising both domestic and foreign investment is essential to achieving the objectives of the Economic Modernisation Vision.
The King also underscored the importance of maintaining communication and coordination with participants in the workshops conducted to assess the first phase of the EMV and identify priorities and recommendations for its second phase.
His Majesty called for continued transparency and urged the government to keep the public informed about the vision’s implementation plans, key milestones, achievements and challenges.
King Abdullah further directed that government efforts and EMV projects should remain focused on delivering tangible and sustainable improvements to the lives of citizens.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.
