UAE, Colombia Discuss Expanding Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation
New York, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with José Manuel Restrepo, Vice President of the Republic of Colombia, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York.
The meeting discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Colombia across several vital sectors, particularly the economic, trade, investment and development fields. The two sides also explored ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the two countries.
The discussions also addressed a number of issues on the agenda of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed commended the continued growth of bilateral relations and the partnership between the UAE and the friendly Republic of Colombia. He expressed his aspiration to identify new opportunities to deepen cooperation, advance areas of mutual benefit, and contribute to the prosperity and well-being of the two countries and their peoples.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation.
