Qatar Media Corporation hosts Gulf Information Ministers
Doha, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) H E Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani and CEO of QMC H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani bin Khalid Al Thani received Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) H E Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf and Their Excellencies the Ministers of Information of the GCC.
They came to participate in the special World Cup atmosphere, at the Lusail Heritage Village, the unique project dedicated to the guests of the State during the World Cup, at the invitation of the CEO of QMC.
The GCC Information Ministers held talks about this unique edition of the World Cup hosted by Qatar, its great positive impact on the region, and its active role in changing prevailing stereotypes.
The Chairman of QMC stressed that the reception of the Secretary General of the GCC, and Their Excellencies the Ministers of Information of the GCC, was held to acquaint them with the atmosphere of the World Cup, and to emphasise the positive reverberations at both the Arab and international levels.
He said the meeting bore many fruitful discussions about the tournament and the atmosphere surrounding it, in order to involve the brothers in this important event.
The CEO of QMC thanked the Ministers of Information for their great role in supporting the tournament, and the support that the tournament received from them, praising the brotherly atmosphere that brings together those in charge of media work in the Gulf countries for the benefit of the citizens and the Gulf media.
He added: “Everyone cooperated to produce this edition in the best way at all levels, and today this is a message of thanks that we present to our brothers for the good spirit that brought us together in this tournament, which is being organised for the first time in our Arab region.”
Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia, H E Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi stressed that Qatar impressed the world with its success in this great forum, praising the efforts it has made to present an exceptional version at all levels.
Secretary General of the GCC, H E Dr. Nayef Falah Al Hajraf stressed that gulf media has taken flight across a space that has no borders, and that the World Cup was the meeting point that brought together the gulf media.
Al Hajraf praised the tremendous and great preparations made by Qatar to host the whole world in Qatar.
Gulf Ministers of Information got acquainted during this tour with a part of Lusail Heritage Village, a project distinguished by its original architectural design, which includes in part images from the Qatari cultural history by Qatari and foreign creators, as well as a number of facilities. Qatar Media Corporation also hosted Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs H E Abdulrahman Baddah Al Mutairi on the occasion.
