Uzbekistan adopts state standard for adventure tourism

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The STQ 4 “Tourism and Cultural Heritage” Technical Committee for Standardization under the State Unitary Enterprise “Tourist Services Certification Center” developed the state standard Oʻz DSt ISO 21101:2022 (ISO 21101:2014, IDT) “Adventure tourism, Risk management system. Requirements”.

The state standard was adopted by order of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation from 18 January 2023 No. 03/127.

This International Standard specifies requirements for a security management system for adventure tourism providers.

A provider may use this standard to:

  1. Improving safety performance.
  2. Meeting expectations for the safety of participants and staff.
  3. Show safe practice.
  4. Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the current legislation.

This standard can be applied by providers of all types and sizes operating in different geographic, cultural and social settings.The date of introduction of the standard is 18 April 2023.
