Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Republican Children’s Library

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the renovated Republican Children’s Library. From the first days of his activity as the Head of state, the President of Uzbekistan pays special attention to the education and upbringing of the younger generation. In 2017, a Presidential Decree was signed on developing the book publishing sector, promoting reading books and reading culture. Readers were encouraged to do so.

Another embodiment of this policy was the recent renovation of the Republican Children’s Library.

The historic building, built in 1907, has been restored and equipped to modern standards. A cozy atmosphere conducive to reading has been created. The book house will become a favorite place not only for children, but also for adults.

The library has a rich fund of Uzbek and world children’s literature, consisting of 180 thousand books. Modern information technologies have been introduced, facilitating employees’ work and creating additional convenience for young readers. In particular, visitors will be issued a special ID card. Registration of readers and giving and returning books will be organized electronically.

Special attention is paid to developing the electronic library, replenishing the funds for video and audio resources, and creating helpful web content. There is a room for listening to audiobooks.

The President got acquainted with these conditions and talked with young lovers of books and foreign languages.

The Head of state stressed that it is necessary to effectively link the library with schools so that they can use the 180 thousand book fund and attract more young people here.

The library has created opportunities for holding international conferences, workshops, and other events, including online. The area around it is landscaped and acquired a new look. A small amphitheater has been organized.

An instruction was given to allocate a car to the library and replenish the fund with new books.
