Shavkat Mirziyoyev signs decree on certification of trees in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the certification of trees in Tashkent. The initiative will be tested under the nationwide “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) project. Certification of trees in the capital of Uzbekistan will take place in three stages:
- the first stage (until March 1, 2024) – a complete inventory of existing trees, except trees on the territory of individual housing);
- the second stage (until November 1, 2024) – the formation of a database displaying the type, age, height, condition, and coordinates of the location of trees identified as a result of the inventory;
- the third stage (until December 31, 2024) – formation on the electronic platform “Yashil Makon” based on the database of a passport for each tree and assignment of an ID number.
Based on the experiment’s results, it is planned to introduce tree passports in other regions of the country.
