UAE Strongly Condemns Israeli Approval of 3,500 New Settlement Units in the West Bank and East Jerusalem

West Bank East Jerusalem

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli government’s recent approval to construct 3,500 new settlement units in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed the UAE’s firm rejection of any measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The MoFA underscored the UAE’s categorical rejection of actions that violate resolutions on international legitimacy, emphasizing their potential to escalate tensions and instability in the region. Such actions, the statement asserted, obstruct efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability.

Emphasizing the importance of supporting regional and international initiatives for peace in the Middle East, the Ministry called for an end to illegal practices that undermine the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The statement reiterated the UAE’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace, justice, and ensuring the realization of the rights of the Palestinian people. It urged the international community to intensify efforts for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life, avoid exacerbating the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and advance comprehensive and just peace initiatives.

The UAE’s strong stance reflects its dedication to upholding international law, supporting the Palestinian cause, and promoting diplomatic solutions to address the ongoing challenges in the region.
