Niger Prime Minister Arrives in Algeria to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Algiers, The Gulf Observer: First Minister of the Republic of Niger Ali Mohamed Lamine Zerouki arrived in Algeria on Wednesday evening, August 26, at the head of a high-level ministerial delegation for a two-day working visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

Zerouki was received at Houari Boumediene International Airport by Algerian Minister of State Safi Ghrib, along with senior government and defense officials.

The receiving delegation included Minister of State for Petroleum and Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Finance Abdelkrim Bouzard, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy Mourad Ajal, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Ali Zerouki, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Abdelkader Djellali, and State Secretary to the Minister of Mines and Geology Karima Bakir Tafra.

Major General Mohamed Salah Ben Bicha, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, Boualam Chabbi, Director General for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Algeria’s Ambassador to Niger Ahmed Sadi were also present.

The visit comes amid renewed momentum in Algerian-Nigerien relations and reflects the shared determination of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Nigerien President General Abdourahamane Tiani to reinvigorate bilateral ties and elevate them to broader levels.

The two countries seek to establish a renewed and effective partnership focused on supporting development and stability while strengthening regional cooperation and integration across the African continent.

The working visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the two sides to explore avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation and advancing shared interests in various fields.
