Ashura Processions Commence Nationwide in Remembrance of Imam Hussain (AS)

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Ashura processions, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala, began across the country on Wednesday, drawing thousands of mourners.
Youm-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram-ul-Haram, is observed to honor Imam Hussain (RA) and his loyal companions for their sacrifice in the Battle of Karbala. This day stands as a poignant reminder of the unwavering resilience of Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), along with his family and devoted followers, who valiantly defended Islam in the face of opposition and cruelty.
In a bid to ensure security, the government suspended mobile and internet services to prevent any untoward incidents. Additionally, Pakistan Army troops and Civil Armed Forces (CAF) have been deployed along the routes of the main procession.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message on Ashura, emphasized the need for unity and the importance of confronting the forces of cruelty and evil with steadfastness. He called upon the nation to embrace forbearance, hard work, and justice, while also addressing the needs of the poor and the needy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his statement, underscored the importance of promoting equality, tolerance, unity, and discipline to address both internal and external threats facing the country. He urged the nation to draw inspiration from the values of fortitude and courage exemplified by the martyrs of Karbala, and to set aside racial, professional, linguistic, and other differences to strengthen the country.
As the nation observes Ashura, the collective resolve to uphold the principles of justice, resilience, and unity remains ever steadfast, inspired by the timeless sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.
