King Salman Science Oasis Hosts International Chemistry Olympiad

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The King Salman Science Oasis welcomed 333 talented individuals from 90 countries for the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad 2024. Organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and King Saud University, the event runs from July 22 to July 30.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that participants were immersed in a rich learning experience, exploring the history of chemistry in the Kingdom and its crucial role in the industry’s development. They gained valuable insights into the petrochemical industry’s contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia.

The students toured an exhibition showcasing research priorities, development, and innovation in the Kingdom, focusing on energy and industry-related technologies. They also interacted with 13 researchers from the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, who provided insights into refining, petrochemicals, hydrogen, nuclear sciences, advanced materials, electronics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, future energy, and mining.

A highlight of their visit was participating in the creation of Taif perfume, adding a unique and cultural aspect to their experience at the King Salman Science Oasis.
