The visit was undertaken on the instructions of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and reflects the commitment of both nations to expanding bilateral cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, and Abed Halouz, Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development.
Upon his arrival at Diori Hamani International Airport, Prime Minister Ghrib was received by his Nigerien counterpart, Ali Lamine Zeine, along with several members of the Nigerien government and senior officials.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the two prime ministers held bilateral talks at the airport’s Hall of Honor, where they reviewed the current state of relations and explored ways to elevate cooperation in areas of mutual interest. As part of the visit, the two prime ministers are scheduled to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Algerian-Nigerien Solidarity Power Plant in Bagourou Panda, located in the capital, Niamey. The 40-megawatt facility was constructed by Algeria as part of its support for Niger’s efforts to enhance electricity generation capacity and improve power supply services.

Prime Minister Ghrib is also expected to be received by Niger’s Head of State, Abdourahamane Tiani, during the course of the visit.
Officials said the visit underscores the depth and resilience of the historic relations between Algeria and Niger, which are founded on the principles of good-neighborliness, solidarity and mutual respect. It also reflects the shared political determination of both countries to build a renewed and effective partnership that promotes development, stability and regional integration across the African continent.
