Museum Dedicated to Hero of Tajikistan Nusratullo Makhsum to Be Built in Rasht District

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A museum dedicated to Hero of Tajikistan Nusratullo Makhsum will be constructed in Qaznoq village of Rasht District, according to the district’s local executive authority, cited by the National Information Agency of Tajikistan.
The museum will be built as part of preparations for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence. The project is being implemented with the support of local entrepreneurs and residents and will be located adjacent to the new building of the rural municipality.
The two-story museum is expected to be completed and officially opened during the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Officials said the establishment of the museum will provide an important platform for educating younger generations about the life and legacy of one of Tajikistan’s most prominent historical figures.
Nusratullo Makhsum was one of the founders of Soviet Tajikistan, a distinguished political and state figure, and the first leader of the republic. He was born in 1881 in the village of Chashmai Qozi in the former Qarotegin Bekdom.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon awarded Nusratullo Makhsum the country’s highest title, Hero of Tajikistan, on June 27, 2006.
Earlier this year, on May 19, as part of an initiative led by President Rahmon, portions of soil from the graves of prominent national figures Nusratullo Makhsum, Shirinsho Shotemur, and Nisor Muhammad were repatriated from Moscow in the Russian Federation to Tajikistan.
The initiative was described as a symbol of continuity between generations and the enduring connection between the country’s historical past, present, and future. The remains will become part of a national memorial complex.
On the occasion, President Rahmon personally attended the reception ceremony for the soil at Dushanbe International Airport, paying tribute to the distinguished sons of the Tajik nation.
