Algeria Strengthens Engagement with Diaspora Competencies During UK Visit

London, The Gulf Observer: The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib, is undertaking a working visit to the United Kingdom, focusing on strengthening ties with Algerian professionals and academics residing abroad.

As part of the visit, Mr. Chaib began his program with a meeting held at the headquarters of the Embassy of Algeria in London, where he met a group of Algerian national competencies based in the United Kingdom and active in various scientific, academic, economic, and technological fields. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Algeria to the United Kingdom and the Consul General.

During the discussion, the Secretary of State emphasized the strong importance attached by Algeria’s higher authorities to national competencies abroad, describing them as a strategic asset and key partner in supporting national development efforts. He highlighted the value of their expertise, academic knowledge, and professional experience in contributing to Algeria’s growth priorities.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on enhancing communication with Algerian professionals living abroad and developing mechanisms to further integrate them into Algeria’s ongoing development dynamics. The discussions aligned with national efforts to better utilize human capital wherever it is located.
