Anwar Ibrahim Begins One-Day Visit to Sabah

Kuala Lumpur, The Gulf Observer: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Sabah this morning for a one-day visit aimed at strengthening federal-state collaboration and engaging with the people of Sabah through the Madani Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025.
The Prime Minister’s special aircraft landed at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 10:35am, where he was warmly received by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and members of the Sabah State Cabinet.
Following his arrival, Anwar is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu, reaffirming ties between the federal and state leadership.
Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will travel to Tawau, where he is slated to officiate at the closing ceremony of the state-level PMR 2025 at the Tawau Municipal Council Square at 2pm.
During his time in Tawau, Anwar is expected to hand over the completed Tamu Desa Sabah project, present the Sabah Entrepreneur Excellence Awards, and launch the Solar Madani Programme, which forms part of broader national efforts to promote sustainable energy and economic empowerment.
The PMR 2025, a three-day event that began on May 9, serves as a key platform for federal agencies and departments to directly engage with the public, showcasing services and initiatives under the Madani concept.
Anwar and Chief Minister Hajiji are also expected to conduct a walkabout session, interacting with the public and inspecting service booths set up by participating agencies.
The visit underscores the Federal Government’s continued commitment to inclusive development and the well-being of the people of Sabah.
