Azerbaijan Commends Pakistan’s Mediation Role in US-Iran Islamabad MoU

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, received a telephone call on Thursday from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during which the two leaders discussed recent diplomatic developments in the region.

Foreign Minister Bayramov congratulated Pakistan on the successful signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, an agreement that Pakistan supported and facilitated through its mediation efforts.

The Azerbaijani foreign minister praised Pakistan’s sincere, constructive and sustained diplomatic engagement, acknowledging its important role in helping advance dialogue between the two sides and contributing to the successful conclusion of the agreement.

During the conversation, both foreign ministers welcomed the Islamabad MoU as a positive and significant development for regional peace and stability. They expressed hope that the agreement would help reduce tensions, promote dialogue and create an environment conducive to broader cooperation and understanding.

The two sides also noted that the development could contribute to strengthening confidence in the global economic outlook by fostering greater regional stability and predictability.

The discussion reflected the close and friendly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions to regional and international challenges and promoting peace through dialogue and cooperation.
