Azerbaijan's Coordination Headquarters Reviews Progress on Great Return Initiative in Khankendi

Baku, The Gulf Observer: A regular meeting of Azerbaijan’s Coordination Headquarters for the Liberated Territories, chaired by Samir Nuriyev, Head of the Presidential Administration, was held in Khankendi to assess the progress of restoration and resettlement efforts.

In his opening remarks, Nuriyev highlighted the significant momentum gained in reconstruction under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, emphasizing the Great Return program’s role in ensuring the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the establishment of modern infrastructure.

He underscored Azerbaijan’s full restoration of sovereignty following the 44-day Patriotic War and the subsequent anti-terror operation, describing this achievement as a testament to President Aliyev’s leadership, the strength of the Azerbaijani state, and the unity of the nation.

The meeting reviewed reports on the implementation of the First State Program on the Great Return, covering key areas such as:

  • Economic stability and resettlement efforts,
  • Stimulating entrepreneurship and employment,
  • Infrastructure and public service development,
  • The work of Special Representative Offices in the liberated territories.

Nuriyev emphasized the need to mobilize all resources to achieve the Great Return’s objectives and issued directives to accelerate ongoing projects.

As part of the visit, the Coordination Headquarters inspected several facilities in Khankendi and Shusha, assessing progress on critical infrastructure and urban development projects.

The meeting reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to the sustainable development of the liberated territories, ensuring their full integration into the country’s economic and social landscape.
