Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Meets Indonesian Counterpart Retno Marsudi
New York, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with his Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi, on Friday during the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, NHC reports citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, as well as the ongoing preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing relations in various sectors, including the economy, transport, and tourism.
Additionally, Bayramov and Marsudi underscored the significance of deepening collaboration within international frameworks such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan’s initiatives as the host of COP29 and expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to collaborate with Indonesia on climate action and sustainable development.
The meeting concluded with the signing of an agreement establishing a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic and service passports between the two nations, further solidifying their cooperation.
