Azerbaijan’s Population Reaches 10.27 Million as of July 1, 2026

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s population reached 10,273,450 as of July 1, 2026, increasing by 11,099 people, or 0.1 percent, since the beginning of the year, according to the State Statistical Committee.

Official population data show that 54.3 percent of the country’s residents live in urban areas, while 45.7 percent reside in rural areas.

The figures also indicate a relatively balanced gender distribution, with men accounting for 49.8 percent of the total population and women representing 50.2 percent.

The latest demographic data provide an overview of Azerbaijan’s population trends and the distribution of residents between urban and rural areas.
