UAE Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening GCC-ASEAN Partnership at Jakarta Meeting

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: The United Arab Emirates Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) participated in the third meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and ASEAN, held in Jakarta, Indonesia, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two regional blocs.

The meeting brought together representatives of GCC and ASEAN member states to review progress made under the GCC-ASEAN Framework of Cooperation for 2024–2028 and exchange views on regional and international developments and shared priorities.

Participants discussed ways to effectively implement the framework, stressing the importance of enhanced coordination and practical cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The meeting also provided a platform for representatives to exchange perspectives on emerging regional and global trends and explore opportunities for expanded cooperation aimed at promoting shared prosperity, stability and sustainable development.

The UAE Mission to ASEAN reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the GCC-ASEAN partnership and its commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation. The UAE underscored the importance of translating the Framework of Cooperation into concrete initiatives capable of addressing evolving priorities and delivering tangible outcomes for both regions.

The meeting reflected the shared commitment of GCC and ASEAN countries to deepening dialogue, strengthening partnerships and fostering closer cooperation in pursuit of common objectives.
