Bahrain grants Switzerland jurisdiction over entities’s data hosted in cloud computing centers
Manama, The Gulf Observer: Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a virtual meeting with Abu Dhabi-based Swiss Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Massimo Badji.
The two sides reviewed the solid bilateral relations of cooperation and means to enhance them in various fields to serve the common interests of both countries and its peoples, in addition to discussing a number of issues of mutual concern on the regional and international arenas.
The minister delivered a letter to the Swiss Ambassador, granting the Swiss Confederation jurisdiction over its entities’ data hosted in cloud computing centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as established by Decree-Law No. (56) for 2018 regarding the Provision of Cloud Computing Services to Foreign Parties, and related ministerial decisions, in a manner that supports cooperation and exchange of information and experiences between the two friendly countries in the fields of digital transformation, communications and information technology, and combating cybercrime.
