Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received the founder and chairman of the Institute for Central Asia and the Caucasus at the US Foreign Policy Council, Frederick Starr.

The American expert appreciated the importance of the international conference on Afghanistan initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which brought together more than 100 foreign delegations from around the world.

It was emphasized that the Tashkent forum, being a relevant and timely event, is focused on strengthening peace, stability and economic restoration of the state in the interests of the entire Afghan people, their neighbors and the world community.

The international conference has become another evidence of recognition by the international community of the success of the updated regional course of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Thanks to the activity and practical efforts of Uzbek diplomacy in recent years

A completely new political atmosphere has been formed in the region, trade indicators are growing, contacts are expanding at all levels, and interconnectedness between Central and South Asia is strengthening.

During the meeting, specific proposals were considered to enhance cooperation between research institutes and analytical institutions of Uzbekistan and the United States in areas of mutual interest.
