China Denounces U.S. Allegations on Outer Space Threats as Excuse for Military Expansion

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China has criticized the United States for perpetually characterizing China as a “threat in outer space,” emphasizing that such claims are merely pretexts for expanding U.S. forces in outer space and upholding military hegemony. Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, made these remarks during a regular news briefing on Friday.

The comments were in response to the U.S. Space Force’s recent report, which alleged that China and Russia are developing anti-satellite weapons. Wang denounced the report as a deliberate derogation of China, aimed at tarnishing its reputation in the international arena.

Wang argued that the United States openly designates outer space as a “battlefield” and actively engages in the militarization of outer space, positioning itself as the primary contributor to the militarization and the most significant threat to outer space security.
