China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Project Launched to Strengthen Regional Connectivity
Jalalabad, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping described the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as a strategic initiative to enhance regional connectivity, prosperity, and stability. His remarks were conveyed in a congratulatory letter at the commencement ceremony of the project.
President Xi noted that the railway reflects the collective aspiration of the three nations to establish this strategic corridor. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among the three countries to ensure the railway’s construction meets high standards and quality. The project aims to serve as a model for Belt and Road cooperation, fostering regional development and strengthening ties between China and Central Asia.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, speaking at the ceremony in Jalalabad, highlighted the railway’s strategic importance as a bridge connecting the East and West. He emphasized its potential to bolster Kyrgyzstan’s status as a transportation hub, generate employment, and stimulate growth in trade, tourism, and industries.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in a congratulatory message, noted that the railway project aligns with the consensus of the three nations’ leaders and holds historic significance for advancing regional cooperation. He said it would enhance trade, cultural exchange, and integration across the region while benefiting the local population.
The ceremony was jointly organized by China’s National Development and Reform Commission, Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Transport and Communications, and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport.
