Copenhagen Cinema Launches International Film Series for Global Audiences
Copenhagen, The Gulf Observer: Copenhagen cinema has launched a new international film series aimed at making world cinema more accessible to the city’s diverse international community by screening films with English subtitles instead of Danish, offering expatriates and foreign residents a more inclusive cinematic experience.
The initiative, hosted by Gloria Biograf & Café in central Copenhagen, features a carefully curated selection of films from across the globe, including productions from Japan, South Korea, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Morocco, Denmark and Norway. The programme includes both contemporary releases and acclaimed classics, with the lineup changing regularly to showcase a broad range of international storytelling.
The new screening series has been designed specifically to address the needs of Copenhagen’s growing international population, many of whom have found it challenging to enjoy foreign-language films accompanied only by Danish subtitles. By providing English subtitles, the cinema aims to create a more welcoming cultural space for audiences from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
