Danish Firm 4Life Solutions to Invest $4 Million in Solar-Powered Water Solutions in Africa

Nairobi, The Gulf Observer: Danish company 4Life Solutions has announced that its total investment in Africa will reach $4 million (Sh516.7 million) by the end of 2025, as it continues to expand its solar-powered water purification solutions across Kenya and the continent. This commitment builds on the $3.2 million (Sh413.4 million) already invested since 2022 to enhance safe water access programs throughout Africa.
The company, renowned for its affordable solar-powered water purification systems designed for vulnerable and underserved communities, plans to raise up to $10 million (Sh1.3 billion) in the medium to long term. The investment strategy will be driven from the company’s Nairobi office, reinforcing Africa as a central hub for its operations.
The announcement was made during a high-profile event held at the Danish Ambassador’s residence in Nairobi, attended by corporate leaders, policymakers, and development partners. The gathering focused on collaborative solutions to address the global clean water crisis.
Speaking on the occasion, Annemette Faerch, chairperson of 4Life Solutions, stated,
“We are standing at a pivotal moment.”
The investment comes amid growing concerns over water accessibility, as over two billion people globally lack safe drinking water, and 41 per cent of Kenyans continue to face challenges in accessing clean water. Additionally, 25 per cent of African households still boil water over open fires, a practice harmful to both health and the environment.
4Life Solutions aims to bridge this gap through its innovative SaWa technology—a solar-powered water purification system verified by the World Health Organisation that eliminates 99.99 per cent of pathogens from contaminated water.
The company’s commitment reflects its long-term dedication to improving public health and environmental sustainability while creating lasting solutions for communities across the African continent.
