Dushanbe Hosts Scientific Conference Honoring Emomali Rahmon’s Role in National Unity

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A scientific and practical conference titled “Emomali Rahmon – Founder of National Unity” was held at the Vahdat Palace in Dushanbe to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence and the 29th anniversary of National Unity.
The event was organized by the State Institution “Vahdat Palace” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and brought together government officials, academics, public figures, and representatives of various state institutions.
Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Dilrabo Mansuri emphasized that safeguarding and strengthening national unity remains a sacred responsibility of every citizen. She noted that, owing to the prudent and farsighted policies of President Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan has achieved peace, stability, national cohesion, and sustainable development.
Participants highlighted that Tajikistan is approaching the 35th anniversary of its independence in an atmosphere of peace and stability, having recorded significant progress across all sectors of society. Speakers stressed that such scientific forums play an important role in studying the country’s peacebuilding experience, fostering patriotism, strengthening national identity, and educating younger generations in respect for national values.
President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Qobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, described national unity as one of the most significant achievements of the independence era. He stated that the persistent efforts of President Rahmon helped restore peace and stability in the country, creating favorable conditions for state development and improving citizens’ living standards.
Speakers noted that promoting and studying Tajikistan’s unique experience in peacebuilding and national reconciliation carries considerable political, scientific, and educational significance, particularly amid contemporary global challenges. They emphasized its contribution to strengthening national consciousness and patriotism among youth.
Chairperson of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, Bunafsha Fayziddinzoda, said national unity has provided a strong foundation for enhancing the status of women, strengthening family values, and expanding women’s participation in the country’s political, economic, and cultural life. She highlighted the growing role of Tajik women in preserving national traditions, educating younger generations, and promoting social cohesion.
Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe Dilbar Odilzoda noted that the capital has emerged as a major political, economic, scientific, and cultural center of the country. She credited the city’s development to the constructive policies of President Emomali Rahmon and the initiatives of Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali. According to her, the climate of peace and national unity has enabled the construction and renovation of hundreds of social, cultural, and service facilities, significantly improving residents’ quality of life.
Participants repeatedly stressed that preserving national unity is a sacred duty of every citizen and that promoting the values of unity among young people remains a key priority for state institutions.
Rudoba Mukarram, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the National Unity and Revival Movement of Tajikistan, described national unity as a priceless historical achievement and the foundation of the country’s prosperity. She reaffirmed the movement’s contribution to promoting peace, unity, national awareness, and social solidarity.
Director of the State Institution “Vahdat Palace,” Yoqub Ismoilzoda, stated that national unity, achieved through the wisdom and consistent efforts of President Rahmon, has laid a solid foundation for strengthening statehood, ensuring political stability, advancing economic and social development, and supporting the country’s overall progress.
During the conference, scholars, university professors, and veteran specialists delivered presentations on President Rahmon’s historical role in restoring peace and stability, consolidating national unity, developing modern Tajik statehood, and reinforcing the foundations of state independence.
The event concluded with the announcement of the results of the nationwide competition titled “Emomali Rahmon – Founder of National Unity,” launched by the Vahdat Palace. Winners in various categories were honored with diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and cash awards for their contributions to promoting the ideals of peace and unity, strengthening patriotism and national self-awareness, and highlighting the historical achievements of the Leader of the Nation.
