Erdogan Criticizes Israel’s Ceasefire Violations, Pledges Support for Gaza

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized Israel’s history of ceasefire violations, calling on the international community to prevent further breaches amid the ongoing Gaza ceasefire deal. Speaking on Saturday, Erdogan condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s record on ceasefire agreements, saying, “Israel, particularly Netanyahu, has a significant record of ceasefire violations, this should not be allowed this time in Gaza.”
Erdogan also condemned Israel’s 467-day offensive on Gaza, which has claimed the lives of more than 47,000 Palestinians, stating, “Despite 467 days of genocide and massacres, Israel has failed to break the will of resistance of our brothers and sisters in Gaza.”
Reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to holding perpetrators of war crimes accountable, Erdogan emphasized, “Our efforts to hold the perpetrators of war and crimes against humanity to account one by one will continue to intensify.”
Türkiye’s government also pledged to mobilize all means to aid in healing Gaza’s wounds during the ceasefire period, which is set to begin on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 06:30 GMT.
On the situation in Syria, Erdogan criticized Israel’s alleged plan to divide the country into three parts, asserting that it had “collapsed.” He further emphasized Türkiye’s stance in supporting voluntary refugee returns while opposing forced repatriation.
