Ex Italian PM Forlani dies aged 97

Rome, The Gulf Observer: Ex Italian Prime Minister Arnaldo Forlani passed away yesterday aged 97. His son Alessandro announced his father’s death.
Forlani was prime minister from 1980 to 1981 and twice secretary of the Christian Democracy: from 1969 to 1973 and from 1989 to 1992.
Born in Pesaro in 1925, Forlani joined the party at the age of twenty and in 1955. He assumed several roles in the party before becoming in 1968 minister for the first time.
Forlani was appointed foreign minister before his appointment in 1980 as prime minister to lead the Italian Government.
