First Relocation Convoy Arrives in Jabrayil City, Azerbaijan

Jabrayil, The Gulf Observer: The first relocation convoy destined for the liberated city of Jabrayil has successfully reached its destination, NHC reports. This significant milestone marks the beginning of the resettlement process for internally displaced persons (IDPs) as part of Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to rehabilitate territories liberated during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The convoy, consisting of 36 families – a total of 117 individuals – was seen off earlier today and arrived safely in Jabrayil. These families represent the first group to return to their ancestral lands, following comprehensive restoration and reconstruction efforts aimed at revitalizing infrastructure and essential services in the region.

Azerbaijani officials have emphasized the symbolic importance of this return, as Jabrayil was one of the key cities regained during the conflict. The relocation is part of a larger national program designed to facilitate the return of thousands of IDPs to their homes, after decades of displacement.

Further convoys are expected in the coming weeks, as Jabrayil and surrounding areas continue to be developed and prepared for resettlement. The government has pledged ongoing support to ensure the safe and sustainable return of citizens to the region.
