Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Holds Diplomatic Talks with Erdogan in Türkiye

Antalya, The Gulf Observer The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, engaged in a pivotal meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his working visit to Türkiye to participate in the 3rd Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

According to reports from Turkmenistan’s official media, President Erdogan expressed gratitude to Berdimuhamedov for graciously accepting the invitation to visit Türkiye and participate in the esteemed Antalya Diplomatic Forum. In response, Berdimuhamedov thanked President Erdogan for the warm welcome and expressed appreciation for the invitation to participate in the diplomatic event. Seizing the opportunity, he extended warm congratulations to President Erdogan on his 70th birthday, conveying heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As part of the birthday celebration, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan presented President Erdogan with a traditional Turkmen içmek, symbolizing goodwill and cultural exchange between the two nations.

President Erdogan, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the birthday wishes and underscored the significance of the honorary title “Hormatly il ýaşulusy” (Honorary Elder) bestowed upon him by Turkmenistan. He emphasized that the honorary title serves as a visible symbol of the enduring friendship and brotherhood shared between the two countries and peoples.

During the meeting, both leaders conveyed their satisfaction with the current high level of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, highlighting the strength of diplomatic and economic ties between the nations. The discussions affirmed a commitment to further enhancing collaboration in various strategic areas.

The bilateral exchange concluded with expressions of mutual goodwill and the reinforcement of diplomatic bonds, setting the stage for continued cooperation and strengthened relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye.

Following the negotiations, several bilateral documents were signed, including:

• Declaration of Intent for cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon resources between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye;
• Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation on the development of partnership in the natural gas sector between the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye;
• Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmenistan Airlines OJSC and University of the Turkish Aeronautical Association.
