Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets National Equestrian Team Ahead of World Championship

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with members of the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group as they prepare to represent Turkmenistan at the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhal-Teke Horse Beauty Contest in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During the meeting, Berdimuhamedov observed the team’s training, spoke with the young riders about their education, aspirations and families, and wished them success in the upcoming international competitions, according to Turkmen state media.

The visit comes as preparations intensify following a decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov establishing a State Organizing Committee to oversee Turkmenistan’s participation in the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who chairs the committee, is supervising preparations for the country’s high-level delegation.

Addressing the riders, Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s youth policy, noting that the country has created favourable conditions for the development and success of the younger generation. He also highlighted the significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s book, Youth Is the Support of the Motherland, as a guide for the nation’s youth.

Founded in 2007 on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group is renowned for its performances featuring young riders and traditional trick-riding displays. Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the team would represent Turkmenistan with distinction at the international events while further promoting the country’s rich equestrian heritage and the world-famous Akhal-Teke horse breed.

Members of the Galkynyş group thanked President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their continued support and the opportunities provided to them. They pledged to perform to the best of their abilities at the forthcoming competitions and uphold the confidence placed in them by the nation’s leadership.
