Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 commenced today at the ADNEC Centre.

Organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council, the exhibitions will run until 21st February. The 17th edition of IDEX and the 8th edition of NAVDEX bring together leading global companies and experts in the defence industry to showcase cutting-edge technologies and solutions aimed at enhancing international peace and security.

The 2025 edition has recorded an increase in participation, with 1,565 companies from 65 countries, marking a 16 percent growth from the previous edition. The total exhibition space has expanded by 10 percent to 181,501 square metres, with 731 new companies participating, reflecting an 82 percent rise.

A total of 41 national pavilions are featured in this edition. National companies comprise 16 percent of exhibitors, numbering 213, while international companies make up 84 percent. Notably, seven new countries—Qatar, Ethiopia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Cyprus—are making their debut at the exhibitions.

A new exhibition hall, Hall 14, opposite the grandstand, has been introduced, accommodating 341 exhibiting companies. Additionally, a dedicated CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) platform has been launched, featuring 38 companies from 13 countries to enhance awareness and preparedness for such threats.

More than 3,300 products and technologies will be showcased, reaffirming the critical role of IDEX and NAVDEX in advancing the global defence sector and bolstering the competitiveness of UAE-based companies on regional and international fronts. The exhibitions will also welcome over 156 start-ups, constituting 10 percent of the total exhibitors, further emphasizing innovation and entrepreneurship in the industry.
