Implementation of Makkah Defence Agreement to Be Decided by Operational Commanders: DG ISPR

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has described the Makkah Defence Agreement as a guarantee of peace and stability in the region, saying that operational commanders will decide how the agreement is implemented and which forces may be deployed.
According to a report published by Daily Jang on Saturday, the military spokesperson said the agreement was not an alliance formed suddenly, but reflected broader efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
He stated that the implementation of the agreement would have a purely defensive character, with operational commanders responsible for determining the modalities of its implementation and deciding which contingents would be deployed, if required.
The remarks highlight the importance of operational planning in translating the agreement into practical defence cooperation, while keeping its implementation focused on defensive objectives.
The agreement is expected to contribute to regional security and stability through coordinated defence arrangements, with operational decisions to be determined by the relevant military commanders.
