International conference on missing persons kicks off in Baku
Baku, The Gulf Observer: An international conference on the theme “Increasing national and global efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons” kicked off in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to media reports.
The event is attended by Head of the State Security Service, Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva, representatives of the State Commission for Prisoners and Missing Citizens, representatives of the diplomatic corps and civil society of Azerbaijan.
At the beginning of the conference, a short video about missing persons was screened.
Ali Naghiyev then read out the appeal addressed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the conference participants.
